You’ll love the ‘shopping list’ of recommended County wines prepared by wine writer Michael Pinkus and found in your TASTE! a celebration of regional cuisine event package on Saturday, September 25 at the Crystal Palace, Picton. As you partake in different off-site events, visit and purchase listed wines at participating wineries and they will validate your list. Drop off your completed list by December 31, 2010 at any of these wineries for a chance to win a case (12 bottles/750 ml) of delectable County wine.

A “TASTE” OF THE COUNTY TOUR FROM TORONTO

Picking up at 9.00 a.m. at Union Station in Toronto, Prince Edward County Wine and Culinary Tours will transport you to TASTE! a celebration of regional cusine, at the Crystal Palace in Picton.

You will have an opportunity to sample foods from world class chefs from Prince Edward County along with fine wines from the area’s award-winning wineries all while listening to jazz performed by local musicians.

From the TASTE! event, you will be taken to three Prince Edward County wineries for a tour of one and private wine tastings at each. You will arrive back in Toronto at approximately 5.30 p.m.

Price:

$95.00 per person plus HST includes return transportation to Toronto, admittance to TASTE! with food and wine sampling tickets, tour of one winery and private wine tastings at each.

Prince Edward County Music Festival presents

The Prince Edward County Music Festival provides a unique and exciting artistic experience by featuring the works of a living composer along with works from other eras and genres which inspired or stimulated their creation. The four evening performances in the acoustically superb Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Picton, are designed to delight a broad spectrum of musical tastes, while providing a unique window into the world of one of Canada's most original composers.

The Alcan Quartet, based in Chicoutimi, Quebec and formed over sixteen years ago has an impressive list of accomplishments: close to 1000 concerts; over 100 live radio broadcasts (Radio Canada, CBC Radio, National Public Radio in the U.S., and Radio France); numerous television appearances; tours throughout North America, Europe and Asia and a number of commissioned pieces and first performances. The quartet was awarded the “Prix Opus Recording of the Year” for its CD of Schubert Quartets.

Joining the choir is Prince Edward County singer and songwriter Jeanette Arsenault along with the Quinte Regional Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Trentones.

Join us at The Waring House, Picton’s country inn, for an after-TASTE evening of great blues and jazz music with Jenica Rayne and The RayneMakers, an upbeat quartet from Kingston, Ontario.
