As you partake in different off-site events, visit and purchase listed wines at participating wineries and they will validate your list. Drop off your completed list by December 31, 2010 at any of these wineries for a chance to win a case (12 bottles/750 ml) of delectable County wine. |

A Wine Day in the Countywith Billy Munnelly Hop on board the bus and spend a wine day in the County this fall with Billy Munnelly (www.billysbestbottles.com) – wine writer and County resident. This lighthearted adventure will consist of education, meeting with County wine personalities, tasting a great variety of wines and a leisurely bistro-style lunch. Wine lovers of all levels and ages welcome. Itinerary: 10:00 am to 4:30pm Start and finish at Huff Estates Winery 10:00 am. Morning class: Experience Billy’s unique wine philosophy/tasting crash course. Followed by a barrel sampling of Chardonnays. Huff Chardonnay won Best Local Wine award at this year’s Ontario Wine Championships. Visit and tasting of Pinot Noir at the French-inspired Old Third Winery. Time for lunch, but not before a you-won’t-believe sparkling tasting at Hinterland Winery. A Bistro-style lunch will be served in the beautiful old barn – with Karlo Estates red wines. Visit and tasting at the Norman Hardie Estate. Before selecting the County to open his winery, Norm worked in South Africa, California and France. If you’re thinking that Chardonnay is passé wait till you taste the wines at our final call, Closson Chase. 4:30pm. Return to Huff Estates for a glass of Late Harvest, and wrap-up.

The Settler’s KitchenA Trio of Cooking Classes Inspired by Settlers to Prince Edward County Bread Making and the History of Food in Prince Edward County TUESDAY, September 28th – Bread Making: We’ll be making a few doughs: a versatile whilte that can be used for savoury or sweet, a multi-grain using some locally-grown grains, plus we will make a snack of blinis made from local buckwheat flour. Jennifer Lyons, head curator of the Museums of Prince Edward County, will make a short presentation on the History of Food in Prince Edward County with selected images and artifacts. Once the dough has risen, we’ll make a number of breads, loafs and buns and have a great meal of them along with homemade sausages. You'll walk away with new bread making confidence and some great a recipes. 10am-3pm

Heritage Farmhouse Cooking ClassCome and experience the “joy of cooking” in a 1830’s homestead in the County. From the Farm Cooking School is the ultimate field to table culinary experience. Cynthia Peters, personal chef & food writer will guide you though preparing a traditional farmhouse meal cooked in a Mennonite wood oven. It will be fun and easy to duplicate in your oven at home too. Help pick some of the ingredients from the kitchen garden and participate in making the communal meal. Enjoy your creation for lunch at the harvest dining room table. The day will capture your heart and your senses.
